Press release of PCSC 2Q24 financial results

In the first half of 2024, through the concerted efforts of 7-ELEVEN Taiwan and its subsidiaries, PCSC achieved consolidated revenue of NT$163.912 billion, marking a growth of 7.09% compared to the same period last year. The consolidated net profit after tax reached NT$7.388 billion, growing by 16.19%, while the profit attributable to owners of the parent was NT$6.30 billion, representing a growth of 17.23%. The earnings per share after tax were NT$6.06. All of the above achieved record highs for the same period, setting a historic milestone. To prepare for the third quarter and meet societal needs, the Taiwan's 7-ELEVEN 7,000th stores"Shoufu Store"  was launched. Moving forward, the company will continue to develop flagship products and innovative convenience services, integrating the OPENPOINT ecosystem to offer a diverse range of sales channels. This approach ensures stable and healthy growth in operations.

7-ELEVEN Taiwan continues to exert its channel influence, adhering to the business philosophy of "All-Day Service in Every Township." The company actively implements four key strategies—improving store quality, optimizing diverse product structures, integrating digital platforms, and expanding online business opportunities—to meet societal needs. The categories of fresh food, CITY series, beverages, and snacks continue to develop popular products, achieving steady sales growth. 7-ELEVEN Taiwan also actively integrates group resources, creating events like the Kaohsiung Sakura Festival and LOVE MOM! campaign, and launching new generation of composite plaza "Par K* Avenue." It is also expanding its operations in highway service areas, with the number of service plaza reaching 58. These diverse approaches continue to meet public needs and innovate the consumer experience. As for our subsidiaries, 7-ELEVEN Philippines, COSMED, Transnet, Starbucks delivered outstanding performance and contributed to the revenue growth. 

7-ELEVEN Taiwan boasts an extensive store network, with a net increase of 159 stores in the first half of the year, bringing the total number of stores across Taiwan to over 7,000. Per-store-daily-sales has shown steady growth. To cater to the diverse needs of various commercial districts, the company has introduced specialized services and optimized store formats. This includes the opening of over 100 stores featuring popular IP collaborations that have sparked influencer-driven economy trends. 7-ELEVEN Taiwan also proactively set up seven X-STORE technology experimental sites as a forward-looking retail strategy and successfully replicated some smart technologies in nearly 2,000 stores across Taiwan. These include self-checkout services and the Intelligent Vending Machine. Additionally, specific stores have been equipped with EV charging stations, Intelligent Automatic Recycling Machine, and solar photovoltaic systems as part of their green initiatives. By integrating group resources, 7-ELEVEN Taiwan offers a variety of composite services, including diverse store modules like Mister Donut, COLD STONE, 21TO GO, Semeur, OPEN! BAR, Hot Showcase, dessert counters, selected frozen food areas, pet lifestyle areas, WATTS one-price sections, and bulk goods sections. In April, 7-ELEVEN Taiwan also introduced the "7-ELEVEN Fresh" concept, offering a new dine-in supermarket format, raising public expectations of convenience stores. The company continues to enhance store quality and integrate regional shopping areas to satisfy local consumer experiences.

7-ELEVEN Taiwan has implemented the "Differentiation and Structure Optimization" strategy to cultivate its own product lines. This includes a focus on diverse culinary offerings, with differentiated brands such as Star-rated Cuisine, Ohlala, Salad Mood, Veggie Selection, hot-pressed sandwiches, Royal snack, Star-rated Braised Snacks, and LADEARS Desserts. The CITY series continues to meet the demand for freshly made beverages through four key approaches: diverse branding, cross-sector collaborations, equipment upgrades, and sustainable practices. These initiatives have consistently created star products, driving stable growth in related categories.

7-ELEVEN Taiwan's "Digital Platform Integration" and "Online Business Deployment" strategies revolve around the OPENPOINT ecosystem, serving a membership base of 18 million. To meet the demand for OMO (Online-Merge-Offline) consumer experiences, they have integrated various service platforms, including physical stores, the OPENPOINT app, iPreorder, iDiscount, OPEN NOW, iOPEN Mall, and delivery and pickup services like Secure Pickup. These platforms offer a wide range of purchasing options, such as online shopping, group buying, delivery, and in-store pickup, creating diverse sales opportunities for stores, manufacturers, and small and medium-sized enterprises. 7-ELEVEN Taiwan has innovatively utilized "points as currency" in everyday applications, expanding point redemption for bill payments, fostering cross-border travel points accumulation, and launching phased lotteries and blind box promotions. Additionally, 7-ELEVEN Taiwan have collaborated with icash Corp.'s icash Pay and icash2.0 to broaden cross-channel payment services. By leveraging the group's diverse brand channels, they offer exclusive member activities, which have continually increased member engagement and transaction amounts by nearly 10%, with member contributions now accounting for over 50% of sales.

Entering the third quarter, a traditional peak season for convenience stores, 7-ELEVEN Taiwan continues to demonstrate operational resilience and adaptability. With a focus on being a "lifestyle brand," the company persistently innovates its product offerings, refines services, and integrates resources. Leveraging its extensive network of 7,000 stores across Taiwan, 7-ELEVEN connects diverse sales channels both online and offline. The group's overall operations remain stable, providing a safe, convenient, and diverse lifestyle service platform that meets customer expectations, setting new milestones for growth and development.
