CipherLab’s New 9400 Industrial Mobile Computer for Microsoft Windows CE Delivers Wireless Anywhere Mobility
2007-11-07
Ruggedized 9400 Series offers multi-modal wireless compatibility and industry-leading battery life for retail, logistics, transportation and field sales/services markets CipherLab, a leading innovator in Automated Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) for the retail, warehouse and distribution markets, today launched the 9400 Series Industrial Mobile Computer, the second CipherLab product to support Microsoft® Windows® CE 5.0. Designed to provide “wireless anywhere” mobility through compliance with all popular wireless communications platforms (including Bluetooth®, WiFi and Quad-band EDGE RF), the 9400 simplifies the tasks of those working in the retail, logistics, warehouse, transportation and field sales/services industries. A powerful yet user-friendly mobile computer, the 9400 delivers industry-leading features such as a built-in digital camera, multi-form data input (touch screen or keyboard), multi-scanning options and the ability to read and write RFID tags. It leads the industry with up to eight hours of battery life in WLAN mode and surpasses drop impact standards – important considerations for the more demanding conditions of the warehouse or field-use environments. And, because the 9400 incorporates familiar Windows graphics and gives users the option of creating custom applications or accessing current Web-based applications, it drastically reduces training time requirements. “No one understands the data capture needs of the retail, warehouse, and field sales/services industries better than CipherLab,” said Robert Hossary, vice president- Americas for CipherLab. “The 9400 offers the features that matter most: multi-modal wireless for total mobility, rugged construction and a choice of a linear imager, 2D imager or laser scanner. With CipherLab’s high manufacturing standards, there’s simply not a better or more affordable Windows CE mobile industrial computer on the market today.” Additional product information: - ergonomic small form factor - VoIP compatibility - 3.5” touch screen with high resolution VGA display - digital camera with resolution up to 2M pixels - two keypad options The 9400 will be in production before the end of 2007, and first shipments are expected in Q1 2008. Visitors to the 2007 National Association of Convenience Stores Show, being held November 6-9 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, can get a first look at the CipherLab 9400 in Booth 1643.
