CipherLab Wins National Award for POS Solution from Leading Retail
2006-07-16
CipherLab, a leading innovator in Automated Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) for the retail, warehouse and distribution markets, was named a winner in Integrated Solutions for Retailers magazine’s Small to Midsize Retail Solutions Award competition. CipherLab and its reseller, Furniture Wizard of Chula Vista, CA, earned the award for Best In-Store System for their deployment of a point-of-sale and inventory management solution at Emerson’s Furniture of Brattleboro, VT. The integrated solution includes CipherLab’s CPT-8061, a handheld Bluetooth® enabled wireless terminal with built-in scanner and Furniture Wizard’s software. The annual award competition recognizes innovative, results-driven vendors that cater to retailers with revenues of less than $500 million, and is judged by an independent panel of VP and C-level retail technology executives from Integrated Solutions for Retailers’ editorial board. “The fact that an independent panel of retailers hand-picked these winners is a testament to the quality of the installations nominated,” said Integrated Solutions for Retailers editor-in-chief Matt Pillar. “The winning implementations were selected from a field of 16 finalists. These vendors are true innovators, champions of the SMB retailer, and are completely deserving of this recognition.” In commenting on the award-winning deployment, Emerson’s Furniture owner Peter Johnson said, “Having the ability to receive instant real-time inventory information, specifically the quantity in stock, is a huge advantage for our salespeople.” He added that customer service has dramatically improved since the installation, as his sales force no longer needs to leave the showroom to check inventory or to provide detailed information on floor models. In addition to CipherLab, award finalists included Celerant Technology, CORESense, Ecometry, GERS Retail Systems, LaGarde, Magstar, Manhattan Associates, New West Technologies, Newgistics, SofTechnics, Torex Retail North America, and Workbrain. Nominated retailers included Aerosoles, Boscov’s Department Stores, Brooks Brothers, Camping World, Children’s Bookshop, Dale And Thomas Popcorn, Emerson’s Furniture, Home Office Solutions Group, Kirschman’s Of New Orleans, Muvico, Saager Shoe Shop, Sedano’s Supermarkets, Square Yard, The Plantation Shop, Tilley Endurables, and Woodcraft Supply Corporation.
